Enhances competence, safety, and decision-making
From stability and ballast control to fire & gas, rig move, and cargo offloading. Built on proven simulation technology used worldwide, these simulation models deliver hands-on experience that enhances
competence, safety, and decision-making in critical offshore environments.
In-Person or online options
Pisys Training Simulators can be run on a wide range of hardware, from a single laptop up to a fully immersive motion platform, or train without travelling with our online option.
High Realism
Highly realistic models of offshore drilling and production semi-submersibles used for stability and station-keeping training & assessment. Unlimited scenarios include: Collisions - Loss of watertight integrity – Blackouts - Equipment failure - Shift of cargo - Severe weather - Mooring failure.
Gaps in traditional training models
Limited Exposure to Complex Emergency Scenarios
The semi-submersible simulator reproduces faults and emergencies—including equipment failures, collisions, severe weather, and power loss—within a controlled, safe digital environment. Instructors can trigger these failures dynamically to test trainee response and reinforce decision-making under pressure
Gaps in Stability and Ballast Control Competence
The simulators replicate real-time ballast systems, vessel response, and environmental conditions (wind, wave, and current). The models meet DNV ST-0033 Class B/CÂ and IMO standards for Stability 2 and 3 courses, ensuring compliance with recognized training outcomes.
Inadequate Understanding of Multi-Vessel Operations
The RigMove – Barge Master – Anchor Handler module lets students design and execute anchor spreads, control multiple AHTs, and handle rig move and mooring tension under variable conditions. This enhances situational awareness and team coordination for anchor and towing operations—a major training gap in offshore competence development
Lack of Integration Between Systems and Departments
Our simulators replicate the interconnectedness of all major systems, including ballast & bilge flow, load distribution, weather effects, moorings, power distribution, and fire/gas systems. This gives trainees a systems-level understanding of vessel behaviour, preparing them for integrated decision-making across multiple disciplines

Huge Business Benefits
Overall the Pisys OTS simulator is a massive benefit to our business and we're really excited about the new opportunities we're getting as customers find out what we can offer.
BOOK A DEMO
We’ll walk you through our Semi-Submersible Training Simulator; letting you evaluate its features and user experience first-hand.
The Pisys simulator uses accurate hydrodynamic and hydrostatic models, real-time ballast system behavior, and environmental condition controls (wind, waves, current). It also meets DNV ST-0033 maritime simulator standards, ensuring realism and compliance with industry-approved Stability 2 and 3 course requirements
The simulator covers a wide range of normal and emergency situations, including:
Loss of watertight integrity
Blackouts and power failures
Equipment malfunctions
Shifts in cargo or ballast
Severe weather and mooring failure
Because all training occurs in a controlled digital environment, trainees can repeatedly practice emergency procedures such as ballast recovery, fire suppression, and system isolation without endangering personnel or assets. It enables error-based learning that’s impossible to achieve offshore safely
Semi-submersible operations require coordination across ballast, power, cargo, and safety systems. Pisys simulators replicate interconnected vessel systems, helping trainees understand how one system’s failure impacts others. This holistic view strengthens teamwork and operational awareness
Absolutely. The instructor console allows scenario creation, control, and real-time logging. Trainers can build unique operational challenges—such as system faults or weather extremes—to assess individual and team performance under variable conditions
The simulator issued complies with the requirements of the United Kingdom and Canada; US Coast Guard (USCG); and the International Maritime Organization (lMO) requirement A.1079(28) for the selection and training of Ballast Control Operators. It also supports DNV ST-0033 Class B/C compliance and meets the learning objectives for Offshore Stability & Ballast Control (Stability 2) and Ballast Control Simulator (Stability 3) courses. This ensures training outcomes align with international maritime competency standards
Yes. Optional RigMove and Anchor Handling modules allow students to control up to four vessels, plan anchor spreads, manage towing, and practice station-keeping—all influenced by realistic weather and sea conditions. This prepares crews for complex offshore coordination tasks
Yes. Pisys simulators can run on laptops, desktops, or immersive hardware setups, and they support online delivery. Instructors can lead sessions remotely while monitoring performance, making it ideal for distributed teams and global training providers
Cyber Essentials Certified
Cyber Essentials helps us guard our organisation against cyber attacks. This is important because vulnerability to basic attacks can mark us out as a target for more in-depth unwanted attention from cyber criminals and others. Certification gives us and our customers peace of mind that our defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber attacks simply because these attacks are exploiting targets which do not have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place. Cyber Essentials is part our ISO27001 certification which is the global standard for Information Security Management Systems.
ISO 27001 Certified
We strive to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of all systems and data used by Pisys in their delivery of hosted applications to their worldwide client base, protecting these systems and data from all threats, internal and external, deliberate and accidental. To do this, we have deployed an information security management system (‘ISMS’) compliant with the ISO/IEC 27001 information security standard to meet our information security policy. The ISMS will allow compliance with customer contracts, and relevant laws of the UK and any company within which Pisys Ltd operates.
